What Customers Say About Transport Phenomena, 2nd Edition:
|
|
Unfortunately the errata list for the 5th printing is STILL valid for the 6th printing. If you are interested in buying the Second Revised Edition, you should first check out the list of errata, referring to each printing of the Second Revised Edition. Please post also your printing number of the Revised Second Edition, along with the purchase date - future buyers will appreciate this information detail, thank you.By the way, a phenomenal introductory transport text, more modern and uptodate in style and didactics, which heavily integrates the use of the COMSOL (FEMLAB) commercial simulation software in its examples and homework problems is Joel Plawsky's book in its Second Edition (2009) version. But luckily all errors of the long 12-pages errata list "as of 14 August 2007" are corrected. Mine (purchase date: August 2009) is the 6th printing of the Second Revised Edition. The front cover outside is indeed blue+yellow (instead of red+yellow) and says 'Second Edition' (instead of 'Revised Second Edition').
This edition and the first define the subject of transport phenomena. This book doesn't need a review.
I'd order from them again. I got what I ordered and I got it in a timely manner.
No complaints here. Also, I received the text in very good condition. The textbook came 2 days after I had received an email that it was shipped. Plus, it had been shipped from a country in Asia, so the fast delivery time was greatly appreciated.
I hope to never have to see this book again, at least until I get through the basics. My professor made us by it because he is a grouchy man who thought we were trying to obtain a master's degree.which we were not. Very complex and hard to follow. Definately for a more advanced student.
